so um, this might be embarrassing to admit, and it is, but I didn’t know what an em dash was until Chat GPT. my whole life I’ve been a comma splicer, never understanding when to use them so I did for dramatic effect or where I think a pause should go. I hate that everyone says em dashes are the fastest way to spot AI, because no—I didn’t know they existed, pls let me be happy.
