So I’ve noticed a common theme with cat owners. I know a handful of people that have misgendered their cats, realized, renamed them, and moved on. I am just confused how this happens. Is it difficult to tell a cat’s gender? I looked it up and… it isn’t hard to tell if they are a boy. Why are all cats assumed female until proven otherwise? There’s a lot of interesting sexism revolving around cats. My favorite podcast has an episode on it, sadly it’s paywalled but there is a snippet on Spotify!
