the pilgrims wouldn’t believe this

So it’s August 6th and I’ve been nonstop watching the Olympics and I’ve decided I need a break. I’m on YoutubeTV flipping through the live channels and end up on ESPN expecting to see the Olympics or any other event than what I saw. To my surprise, there was something on ESPN, the great 2024 Corgi World Championship Races. Side note: I just looked it up and apparently this happened weeks ago, so they were showing reruns of this. I was flabbergasted wow a Corgi race. I didn’t even know what to think. Before I knew it the announcer was explaining how these Corgis are all Amazon employee dogs. I had so many questions and couldn’t help but think to myself Why in the world do so many Amazon employees have Corgis? Why do so many of them race? Are they bred for this? As an Amazon employee is it required that your pet must be a dog, and not just any dog, a Corgi that races? Are these dogs happy? I started watching and was amazed by how fast the Corgis were. After each race, the winning Corgi and their owner would be interviewed. My jaw dropped when one person started talking about another famous racing corgi by name. How do these people know the names of other racing corgis? Are they that famous? Should I know this? It felt too familiar like I should know what dog they’re referencing because they were a champion. Then it hit me, this happens every year. I am shocked. I begin to get into it and catch myself saying “Corgis Away!” along with the announcer. During the races, the dogs start on one end and have their owners on the other end holding their favorite toys or treats as encouragement. All of the Corgis had the most adorable names, but Milo Bigglesworth quickly stole my heart. He has a large red rubber egg-looking toy that he is obsessed with. It makes him so happy and excited that he won his race, and then won the entire thing! Go Milo Bigglesworth!!!
